Mum Nehali Khoche shares this healthy and easy khichdi recipe that she makes for her 1 year old baby:
- Take rice and moong dal in a 2:1 ratio
- Soak this for at least 15 minutes or more if you have time
- Put the pressure cooker on low flame
- Add some ghee (best if home made)
- Add some heeng and jeera powder (cumin seed powder)
- Add some garlic paste as well
- Add some diced/chopped vegetables like potatoes, tomatoes, pumpkin or whatever your child prefers
- Add water
- Now add the soaked rice and dal
- Add a pinch of turmeric powder and salt to taste
- Add some chopped coriander leaves for a dash of taste and to add some colour
- Close the lid and let it cook for 3-4 whistles
- If your baby is very small, mash the entire khichdi to make it into an even smoother paste
